Days of Taste® Seeking Volunteer Chefs & Food Enthusiasts!

American Institute of Wine and Food's (AIWF) Days of Taste® is
a discovery-based program for 4th & 5th graders to learn about food
and how it weaves its way through daily life from farm to table. We are
seeking volunteer chefs, food professionals and food enthusiasts
who work as a team with a classroom teacher and guide elementary public
school children through an exploration of food and nutrition. Days of Taste® provides
students an opportunity to discuss, savor and compare different taste
sensations and flavor from locally grown foods, as well as hands-on
experience preparing food.
Time Commitment, Fall Calendar & Training:
Days of Taste® is comprised of 4 one-hour sessions, one day a week, during the month of
October 2008. There is a mandatory two-hour training session on Monday,
September 8th at Telepan Restaurant (72 West 69 Street • New York,
between Columbus and Central Park West), 9:30 to 11 AM to prepare you
for the program.
Day 1: Exploration of the ABC’s of Taste & Health
Day 2: Local Seasonal Products at the Greenmarket
Day 3: Preparation of a Harvest Salad
Day 4: Visit & Luncheon at Days of Taste® Restaurant
