Technical Consultancy Program with NOFA-NY and Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture

Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture and NOFA-NY announcement below:
Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture and NOFA-NY are pleased to announce a New Technical Consultancy Program for beginning farmers.
Many of today's young farmers grew up in the cities and suburbs; as these courageous farmers step into the fields for the first time, Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture and NOFA-NY are working to ensure that experienced farmers are at their side, providing them with the technical support and encouragement that they need to succeed.
Through the Technical Consultancy Program, NOFA-NY and Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture are facilitating short-term, technically-focused mentorships between new and experienced farmers. The Technical Consultancy consists of a roster of Northeast farmers, catalogued by expertise. With access to this roster, beginning farmers who qualify for the program will be able to contact the appropriate consultant-farmer with specific questions. Consultations will take place at the convenience of the two farmers – either in person, or over the phone. The farmer-consultant will be compensated for his/her time in 60-minute increments for up to 6 hours.
